    In New Mexico, like in many states, the most skilled, thoughtful leaders in progressive, 501(c)3 organizations had never met, or in many cases, had never even heard of, their like-minded counterparts involved in New Mexico campaigns, advocacy and other critical sectors. The lack of personal relationships created a glass ceiling on the impact of New Mexico’s progressive infrastructure, breeding suspicion, cynicism and lack of confidence and collaboration among these sectors. The New Mexico Strategic Leadership Institute was established to increase the effectiveness of the progressive sector by connecting key leaders who previously had not known one another. As Co-Director I create content, plan and manage convenings, and oversee the strategic direction and selection of colleagues.
