My role at My Green Lab is essentially to identify and remove obstacles that are impeding my colleagues and our program participants from doing the important work of greening labs and the supporting ecosystem of products and services. It is an administrative role with an emphasis on organizational management, strategy, technology, HR, finance, and fundraising. I am grateful for the opportunity to support such an exceptional team and community.

I independently designed a diagnostic medical laboratory in Piave, Kenya and worked with a variety of stakeholders including local officials and community leaders to build and equip it. I worked with a Reach Out To Humanity (ROTH) team to construct a laboratory and classrooms for a secondary school in Arusha, Tanzania. Currently, I serve on the Board of Directors of this Canadian charitable organization.

At Säzän Environmental Services (SES), I provided consulting services for public and private green building projects from concept through post-occupancy. My goal as a consultant is fundamentally to understand and advance my clients' sustainability priorities. From there, I work proactively to guide the creation of high-performance buildings that minimize resource use without sacrificing function or comfort. For clients that are seeking certification, I provided design guidance, technical assistance, project management, and documentation support pertaining to the Living Building Challenge, LEED certification, and other protocols.My work at SES was informed in part by my experience as a Technical Manager for the Living Building Challenge, where I provided consulting services and technical support to project teams, among other responsibilities.

As a Technical Coordinator for the Living Building Challenge (LBC), I provide programmatic support and technical consulting services to both prospective and current project teams; develop and deliver educational content either live or via webinar to international audiences; develop technical resources for publication; and help to manage the LBC's third-party audit and certification process. Previously, I assisted with the development of the Declare program, which afforded me extensive knowledge of materials toxicity avoidance in the built environment.

During my time with So They Can, I doubled the capacity of a children's home, added several classroom blocks to a primary school, and worked with Kenyan Ministry of Health officials to design a health center in a 6,000-person internally displaced persons camp in Nakuru, Kenya. I served as STC's government liaison, construction manager, and local representative. Additionally, I completed a strategic plan for a large-scale education improvement and community development project in Tanzania.

I was a founding member of this nonprofit tool-lending cooperative. I served on the steering committee to analyze feasibility and logistics, guide the vision and mission, and draft policies to ensure the success of this project. I worked with programmers to design a custom computerized inventory system. After seeing the project through to completion, I left the organization to pursue work abroad. This organization lives on today and is hundred of members strong.
