    I am the attorney primarily responsible for the firm's healthcare restructuring practice. In the past five years we have taken 9 nonprofit hospitals through chapter 11, and acquired ground breaking decisions limiting the powers of the California Attorney General over the sale of nonprofit hospitals, as well as how bankruptcy courts deal with the transfer of Medicare and Medicaid provider agreements. Additionally, I have represented debtors, committees, individual creditors, and entities seeking to acquire distressed healthcare industry assets, both in bankruptcy courts and in out of court workouts and restructurings. My clients have included hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, durable medical equipment suppliers, ambulatory surgical centers, medical groups, independent practice associations, health plans, governmental entities and others. I have negotiated many settlements with the Medicare and Medicaid programs for healthcare entities nationwide.

    I served first as a general legal officer at the Giessen Legal Center. Later, I served as the Brigade Legal Advisor to the Commander, Third Brigade, Third Armored Division in Butzbach Germany. Then I served as the Officer in Charge of the Hanau Field Office of the United States Army Trial Defense Service, where we represented soldiers facing courts-martial and non-judicial punishment against the Army. Finally, I was the Deputy Regional Defense Counsel for the United States Army Forces involved in Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

After completing Infantry Officer Basic Course and Ranger School at Fort Benning, GA, I spent 2 years as a platoon leader in the 1st Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile), and then 2 years as a platoon leader, company executive officer and regimental staff officer at the 1st Battalion, 3rd US Infantry, at Fort Myer, VA.
