I previously developed the Pediatric Sedation Curriculum, as well as taught medical students the principles and practices of procedural sedation.

    As a physician, I ensure first-rate patient care, provide resident and medical student training, and perform extensive clinical research. Since 2021, I’ve served as a member of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Previously, from 2016 to 2021, I was a member of the Clinical Competency Committee – Pediatric Residency Program.*HIGHLIGHTS*➺ Received nearly 90% patient satisfaction after developing the Meds-to-Bed program within the ICU, whereby pharma techs provide comprehensive bedside instruction on patients’ medication, including proper administration and potential side effects to mitigate future setbacks.➺ Reduced patients’ average length of stay associated with critical respiratory infections by developing processes to effectively use a high-flow oxygen device in critical life support of patients with viral respiratory illness, thereby decreasing resource utilization, reducing costs, and enabling better outcomes.➺ Reduced excessive narcotic and sedative use/exposure by developing and implementing a clinical care algorithm and process for sedation and analgesia of mechanically ventilated patients in the ICU.

    In 2011, I was appointed to develop a committee and associated program from scratch. As part of this committee, my goal was to provide leadership in the development, adoption, and application of several processes, clinical protocols, and care pathways to ongoing drive improvements throughout the hospital.*HIGHLIGHT*➺ Established and grew the committee into an effective, esteemed group with remarkable accomplishments in the areas of care standardization. Led the committee to become a change-making group and example of quality and patient safety.

    *HIGHLIGHT*➺ Advanced stroke treatment and expedited treatment/care through developing the Pediatric Stroke Pathway program, including creating processes and protocols to guide ER physicians in early identification and diagnoses. This practice is still followed throughout the hospital network.
