    Multiple responsibilities, Multiple locations.At Stevens Homewares, I set up a reporting solution, using SSIS to extract data from POS (SQL), Quanta (Informix) and Acumen (Flat file), combining it in a SQL 2005 database, and providing SSRS reporting covering stock movements, retail sales, General Ledger, and data tracking reports. I also created a system to extract & send new Purchase order information to a 3rd party consolidation company.Still at Stevens. I used SSIS/C#/T-SQL to create web services to keep multiple gift card systems synchronised during a migration process, I also performed the analysis/extracts for the migration from Quanta/Acumen/POS to the Farmers SAP systems again using SSIS/C#/T-SQL. During my 3 and a half years at Stevens, I was the sole IT person, so also maintained the network, performed exchange upgrade, server upgrades, and all necessary support functions.For Whitcoulls, I set up a reporting database in SQL 2008R2, using SSIS to extract data from existing systems to provide reports in the Farmers format, to support the business through the process of migrating to the Farmers systems. Using T-SQL, I cleansed, de-duped, and merged several existing customer databases into a single entity, and then de-duped against a corporate master database in CRM.Multiple smaller projects in C# including a web application to provide gift card balances to an externally managed/hosted website, a winforms web application for loading employee data to a third party corporate training site, and a winforms web application for simulating gift card transactions against a third party system.Installation and administration of a Cognos Express Test system, and administration of the production Cognos Express system.

    I started at Farmers as a Delphi Developer working on multiple projects, including a SKU allocations system, a stock management system, a SKU creation/maintenance system and a commission system for the big ticket sales people.I was given sole charge of a SQL 2000 datawarehouse and was responsible for its maintenance and all enhancements.With the move to SQL 2005, SSIS/SSRS were heavily utilised to provide monitoring reports for the flow of sales data from its start at POS, through to its end in SAP and all the steps in-between.I wrote the original webervice communication layer between the sales order website, and SAP BAPI’s in C#.

    I am still working for Farmers, but currently, I am "on Loan" to Stevens Homewares, which is a much smaller support office. My task there is to set up a reporting system on SQL Server, and to perform any IT functions required. This means I spend much of my day troubleshooting Acumen/fusion/Quanta issues, Win2K server issues, getting to know linux again, setting up spredsheets in Excel, fixing printer problems, looking after AD and Microsoft Exchange, data analysis and extracts as needed, and just anything else that falls under IT - I must admit, it is fun, and my days fly by
