Research on breeding attempts and success of threatened Black Cockatoo species (primarily Carnaby’s Cockatoo) across their range. All aspects of research project management including:- Design of the survey framework and data management through ArcGIS. - Managing fieldwork across the state for four months of the year during the breeding season.- Managing volunteers, all survey efforts, and associated data across all regions. - Collaborating with the five major natural resource management (NRM) organizations in Western Australia to produce region-specific deliverables and conservation outcomes for Black Cockatoos. - Annual reporting on the project’s outcomes for all stakeholders (federal government and NRM groups), with quarterly updates for our volunteer network. Production of the annual Carnaby’s Cockatoo Breeding Report.- Data packaging and sharing with all stakeholders.

Research into the movement ecology of the three black cockatoo species endemic to Western Australia, studying the distribution and movement behaviour of black cockatoos through the use of rehabilitated birds re-released into wild flocks equipped with satellite tags.- Project management of a multi-year, multi-site research project.- Programmed Argos PTT satellite tags and UvA-BiTs tags (GPS) to be attached to rehabilitated birds. - Developed fieldwork protocols in line with satellite communication periods for several birds per release. - Data collection, database management (SQLite), and data analysis through Rstudio. - Dissemination of project outputs in doctoral thesis, academic papers, quarterly updates to stakeholders, monthly newsletters, and bi-annual project presentations.
