      Originally began as a six-week internship which was then extended multiple times becoming a six-month experience in the Government Communication Service (GCS), within the Home Office. I was assigned to the ‘Safe and Legal Migration’ pillar of communications, focusing on a variety of different topics within this area.This included, constructing various official press lines which could be from the Home Office or Minister Jenrick in response to the unprecedented Border Force Strikes, which were carried in a variety of news articles including the Guardian and Sky News. I also created assets, including a factsheet, partner pack, social media lines and a core script for the global campaign ‘Electronic Travel Authorisation’ which will launch into the future and will be distributed to stakeholders like British Airways. In addition, I worked with colleagues to form a communication strategy for the ‘ICIBI Report: An inspection of the immigration system as it relates to the agricultural sector May to August 2022.’Alongside other significant work during this eventful 6-month experience in the Home Office, I developed skills and learnt the importance of many things, such as: seeing the bigger picture, teamworking, effective communication, adapting to change, problem solving and time management.
