August 2011 – May 2014Ruth was the Project Manager on a maintenance project for the Patient Access Registry with the Department of Health, Nova Scotia. She managed a team of developers to provide support and to enhance the functionality to the existing surgical registry. Her role was to advise the Wait Times branch on implications of any system changes; to create presentations explaining new concepts; and to manage documentation and tasks lists in SharePoint. As well, she was responsible for all project management activities, including time management and cost management. It was her responsibility to ensure there was constant communication with the stakeholders in Nova Scotia and foster a good working relationship with all stakeholders.September 2013 – April 2014As a Project Manager, Ruth coordinated a development team to provide e-learning in the iLearn application. Ruth liaised with the clients to determine their needs and led a team to design, develop, test and deploy the two online training courses to thousands of government employees in many departments.

November 2008 – July 2010Ruth performed the role of Senior Business Analyst on the Patient Access Registry project for Nova Scotians – an initiative to improve wait times for surgeries. She met with surgeon groups in all surgical facilities in Nova Scotia and contributed to a comprehensive stakeholder analysis (questionnaires and interviews). This was carried out using industry change management best practices to identify gaps and risk areas relative to changing current business processes to identify training need and approach (e.g., users had varying degrees of comfort and experience with technology). She met with Directors of Nursing in the surgical facilities in Nova Scotia to identify their pain points and to determine what was currently working and document where the deficiencies existed in the training approach. Ruth was responsible to perform a Use Case analysis; document the functional requirements; to write the detailed design documentation; write test cases; and assist with quality assurance. She was responsible to coordinate and deliver training to staff at all facilities in the districts.
