Conducted SOX control review and testing for a large Milwaukee based manufacturing firm and for a Milwaukee based air carrier. Performed interim Controller duties for a large Milwaukee based privately held foundation until suitable staff was hired. Supervised all payroll functions including all year-end work for a Mequon Wisconsin based manufacturing company until full time help was in place.

    As Chief Financial Officer I reported to the principal owner and was responsible for most financial affairs, including accounting and reporting, budgeting and pricing, raising capital and debt administration, cash management and control, insurance and risk management, and governmental cost reporting, tax filing, and audit liaison. Secured a $17.9 million dollar long term loan with a large Midwest based insurance company, established a retrospectively rated workers' compensation program to better control costs and save premiums, designed, administered, and implemented a consolidated partially self funded group health plan to better control company wide health costs.

    Congoleum was one of the largest privately held multi-million dollar Conglomerates with annual revenues in excess of $850 million until it was sold off in 1987. This fortune 500 sized Conglomerate was a shipbuilder for the United States Navy, manufacturer of floor coverings and home furnishings, and distributor of automotive parts and industrial supplies. In my numerous positions with Congoleum I managed the accounting department, developed divestiture plans, conducted sale negotiations for non-performing business units, prepared overhead cost submissions and cost impact statements for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and the United States Navy in auditing contract costs; and I prepared cost estimates for new proposals, and to help in resolving questioned cost issues.
