    I started as an on ice official in 2001. By 2002 i was working as a linesman in the 2nd tier of British Ice hockey, the British National League. In 2010 i moved from Dundee down to the West Midlands where i continued to work as a Linesman, in the English Premier League (by this time the 2nd tier as the BNL folded in 2005). In 2013 i moved to working as a referee where i have worked games in the National Ice Hockey League and in divisions 1 & 2.In 2015 i began working as a referee instructor. Teaching the new officials the basics so that they can begin their officiating career. In 2017 I attended an Instructors Seminar hosted by USA Hockey at the Olympic training centre in Lake Placid NY. I continue to run level 1 courses to this day.In 2016 I worked as a game assignor for the referee section. Allocating officials to games up and down the country. This was a time consuming job that I continued to do until 2018.
