In my role as National Development Manager for Scottish Motor Sports (SMS), I had overall responsibility for the implementation of the 2016-2020 strategic plan. I worked with the sports two National Governing Bodies – the Scottish Auto Cycle Union (SACU) and Motorsports UK - and their member clubs to ensure targets were achieved and sportscotland investment maintained. Key achievements included the creation and implementation of the Scottish Road Car Series (which resulted in a 126% increase in participation), the development and implementation of the SMS Academy programme to support upcoming talented competitors, developing the highest concentration of level 2 qualified motorsport coaches in the UK and the management and implementation of Scotlands first motorsport club development programme.

I had responsibility for working closely with the two National Governing Bodies for motor sport in Scotland – the Scottish Auto Cycle Union and the Motor Sports Association - to develop a case for public investment into Scottish Motor Sports. Following a comprehensive research and consultation process, I led the development of the SMS 2016 – 2020 strategic plan and the subsequent pitch to Sportscotland that resulted in a £360,000 investment into the development of motorsport in Scotland.
