Boom Logistics Ltd is Australia’s only ASX listed provider of Wet & Dry Crane hire with a national fleet of over 350 cranes ranging from 25t pick & carry to 800t all-terrains employing 675 people. I was responsible for finding and developing opportunities to service the Mining, Infrastructure, Processing, Construction, Energy and Renewable Industries to keep the 100 crane WA fleet fully utilised. At Boom I was able to expand my network, apply my construction expertise, develop project specific solutions and gain equipment hire experience on many major WA Infrastructure and Mining projects. Achievements include:- Maximising use of available fleet - Creating new and re-establishing previous client relationships- Securing major contracts on WA infrastructure projects- Securing MSA with Mining Clients for both Mining Operations and Refineries - Securing award of contracts on iconic WA building- Securing award of major energy projects including solar and battery Regretfully, Boom Logistics determined that after securing good projects over the past 3 years and a strong pipeline of future works, my role of business development manager was no longer required.I look forward to a new opportunity to help maximise the growth and development of my next employers business.

Typically clients were at the higher end of the first home buyer market, investors, people relocating to Perth from overseas and second or third home builders. At Celebration Homes I pursued my interest in residential home construction and broadened my understanding of sales and sales skills. I consider the ABN Group as the market leader with Celebration Homes representing the best value in a competitive market. I enjoyed great training and development in a challenging role that allowed me to build on my existing skills, knowledge and building experience. In this role I developed skills in: - Rapport Building- Helping clients determine their wants and needs- Differentiating between features and benefits- Qualifying and determining a clients capacity to meet their expectations- Managing expectations - Contract negotiation - BCA & Design Guideline Compliance - Design & Estimating - Reporting - FinancingThe team, training and development at Celebration Homes are second to none and I'll always be appreciative of my time and the people their. This was a job I absolutely loved but unfortunately I found that the typical work hours (weekends & evenings) required to be successful were not compatible with the having young children and the family life my wife and I wanted.

Grounded cover all aspects required to deliver Accommodation Village Solutions providing everything from landscaping, construction, concreting, fencing and maintenance to hydraulics. Services include - Design, Procurement, Installation, Relocation, Refurbishment, Maintenance and Management.As GM, I assisted the MD in day to day operations. I was engaged to use my mining industry network to build the client base and develop opportunities and due to the softening mining construction market, I was also developing diversified revenue streams. I am proud I was able to provide core and alternative business revenue that helped Grounded in a tough time. As a new business in a soft market, I understood that minimising overheads was a requirement to keep trading and we parted ways by mutual agreement. As Grounded’s core market returned, they have experienced significant growth and with our relationship intact, I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with Grounded in various capacities via other employment.

My roles and responsibilities included:- Sourcing and developing new business and clients- Expanding the range of services offered to clients- Creating and maintaining client and supplier relationships- Developing marketing strategies- Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities - Setting budgets, tracking and reporting- Quoting and tendering- Project Management- Financial Management and cost control- Contract Management - Tendering - Negotiation Some of my achievements in this role include:- Award of $30m in projects- Significant increase of revenue and margin, avoiding administration and returning the business to profitability working closely with the CFO- Tendered and delivered the installation of 111 modular homes for Landcorp / NLV in Karratha. $13m.- Delivered the electrical infrastructure for the Wormal Newman Subdivision. $8m.- Tendered and delivered the installation of 28 homes for Velocity / NLV in Karratha. $3.5m.- Tendered and delivered the manufacture and installation of a 300 person Kitchen to the Karratha LIA. $1.2m with manufacture performed in Thailand.I was not privy to East Coast operations that pulled the business into administration but was provided a redundancy.

I then developed a low risk strategy to add delivery and installation to Fleetwood’s existing manufacturing services.
