Provision of technical advice on the establishment of the Scottish Materials Brokerage Service and to help inform the associated collaborative procurement exercise for the brokerage of public sector waste resources at a national level. The Brokerage aims to transform the currently fragmented nature of contracts for materials across Scottish local authorities by presenting an aggregated supply of priority materials to the market. By consolidating materials, the brokerage aims to promote market stability and deliver sustainable financial returns for the public sector. It will also help to realise more of the value of waste materials for the benefit of Scotland’s economy, by making it easier for reprocessing businesses to invest here, based on greater certainty of supply
