Served Chief of Party for USAID’s Safe Water Systems Program in Indonesia. This project used a commercial non-subsidized sustainable model to ensure wide access to an affordable water treatment product (Air RahMat- dilute hypochlorite solution) for household level use. • Managed a partnership that includes private and public sector partners for the manufacture, distribution, as well as marketing for the Air RahMat product, ensuring sustainability of the product in the market place after the project funding ends. The private sector has taken over all responsibility for the production and distribution of the product. Over 1.5 million bottles have been sold and there is high awareness of the product. The manufacture is still producing and distributing without outside funding. • Partnered with the Government of Indonesia (MOH, Social Welfare, etc) to implement all activities and ensure institutionalization of Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS).• Implemented advocacy efforts with MOH that led to a national Ministry of Health HWTS Policy and a national conference resulting in the adoption of Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS) as a main pillar of the National Community Based Total Sanitation program. As a result of these activities the MOH now fully endorses and promotes HWTS where 2 years ago the only accepted HWTS technology was boiling. The MOH rolled out the HWTS training in half of Indonesia districts. • Provided overall management of the program, oversee the development and implementation of the overall strategy for the project, develop yearly work plans and budgets, manage staff, and ensure the attainment of all targets and objectives. This was a 5 year $5.9 million project that has leveraged more than $1million. • Coordinated the project with the donor community (WB, ADB, WHO, etc.) and with local level governmental agencies and NGOs, FBO, and local organizations, International Network for the Promotion and HWTS.
