    I was the founder and CEO of Easton-Berry Collections for thirteen years. During this time I saw the changing landscape of society, particularly in terms of digital and technological innovations, and the impact that these were having on communications, on personal finances, and on data collection and management. Naturally, our business developed and evolved to meet these changes, pioneering many new technologies and creating new innovations which we took to market. All of these entities were eventually consolidated and realigned to form the services and products within the Upstream Group’s portfolio of companies - targeting specific niches and taking our world class products and offering to the world.

    Consumer Friend was born out of a division of my law firm - Easton-Berry Incorporated. Following my role in implementing the National Credit Act in 2005, it became apparent that there was a need for a unique service offering to the South African Credit Industry. Consumer Friend was launched as a separate business, offering comprehensive and compelling Debt Review solutions for Credit Providers in South Africa, and since inception the company has gone on to win multiple categories at the annual Debt Review Awards.
