    The Raymond G. Murphy VA Medical Center, Albuquerque, NM, will have their own Fisher House with groundbreaking taking place in late 2016 and ready for occupancy in Spring 2017. The house will provide first-class "home away from home" while loved ones receive care -all at NO COST to the service member or their families. The house will provide all the comforts of home-spacious dining, living, laundry and family room, kitchen and private bedrooms for families to retreat and rejuvenate after a stressful day at the hospital. While the road to recovery is different for every family, one thing remains the same~Fisher House is there to provide comfort and compassion.

    The American Legion Auxiliary celebrated its 90th anniversary of Service, Not Self for Veterans, God and Country on November 10, 2009. She is ALA's first Hispanic President and the first sitting President to have a Facebook page, leading other members on the social networking wave. Reinvented and re-energized, caring and re-committed, she led approach to a new decade still going strong and ready to make a difference for our military, veterans and their families.Presently very active with organization at all levels and advocates in local community on children issues, health forums, fundraising for youth groups, school scholarships for high school alumni & time with family, especially grandchildren! Lives in the moment!
