    My role at Manukau Institute of Technology was to provide support in all areas of a student studying a Bachelor in Pacific Nursing. I provided support for a very large student body and of all different levels from first year to students in their final year of study. In this role I learnt how to best engage our Pasifika students in Pasifika initiatives such as workshops and events that were academic or career wise. Being a Pacific Liaison officer allowed me to network with many other student services available to students to provide the support they needed. The role also entailed me to be part of a Pacific Advisory Group with other professionals in all areas such as academic, career and community to discuss and put in place valuable programmes and support for Pasifika nurses.
