Managed and lead a regional team of Commercial Lenders in overall banking business development. Responsible for both loan growth and asset quality. I developed a total of "New to Bank" high quality loan portfolio of $60,000,000 and "New to Bank" revenues in excess of $2,000,000 over a three year period while also maintaining reporting and management of the Commercial Lending team's development goals. I was rewarded as a top performer for loan and revenue generation for my entire tenor. While I was not unhappy with this employer, I left this position for an inferior compensation package with the promise that the benefits I brought to the new employer would lead to greater rewards in the long run.

Senior Vice President - Senior Credit Officer

I served as the Senior Credit Officer for this Institution for three years. I lead a team of lenders in the wake of a corrupt Senior Lender that had brought substantial, questionable Commercial Credit to the Institution. I also was an active Business Development Officer in the Commercial Lending Area and brought over $45,000,000 in quality "New to Bank" business to this institution, substantially improving the profitability and Return on Assets and Return on Equity. The Bank has still not realized the level of profitability they experienced while I was on board, bringing them high quality business. I enjoy bringing deals to the Bank and seeing clients succeed from the understanding of a good banker. The internal politicking amongst members of the Board of Directors and Senior Management was not tolerable or conducive to continuing success in this position. I was happy to return to First Tennessee Bank when they contacted me and asked me to return.

I joined the United States Marine Corps in 1982 at age 17. After completing "Boot Camp" I went on to Infantry Training School and trained to become an 81mm Mortarman. Over the next 8 years I advanced in rank and responsibility, learning all facets of indirect fire support, including fire direction center, forward air control and forward observer. I was privileged to have been mentored by some of the finest Marine NCOs, Staff NCOs and Officers in the Marine Corps. Learning from and following their example I became a Platoon Sergeant before an injury in the line of duty ended my career. I embarked upon a multitude of deployments, throughout the world. Proud to have served and would do it again!
