IT Manager for JSF Avionics Program (concurrent with above)
-
Aug 2002 - Nov 2009
Proposal to production IT responsibility for Northrop’s $5B 10 year program. Northrop Grumman was selected for Avionics by both Boeing and Lockheed teams during the down select competition.Responsibilities included the IT portion of proposals to both primes. Both teams were required to demonstrate subcontractor links of IT systems for computer aided design and business tracking prior to award, and a full build-out was completed after the award to Lockheed. A program network was built at the ITAR level to Lockheed and our subcontractors.• IPSec encrypted links to our prime contractor Lockheed and Northrop’s eight subcontractors.• Turnkey delivery of links and routers preconfigured using a spreadsheet that drove a Word form letter to create consistent, accurate configurations. Shipped, plugged in, worked, no travel needed.• An isolated Windows environment bid with program-owned, not corporate equipment. Complete with DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Exchange, file and print servers.• This network also served as a backbone that enabled rapid deployment of three classified networks with KG-135, type 1 encryption between JSF partners.• A Cisco VPN concentrator provides access from PC’s on the Northrop network into the JSF Partner Net without split tunneling. Authentication is provided by AD group membership managed by program personnel, not the corporate service center. Context for file services and printers is saved and restored by a script when switching between networks.
