Dick joined Price Waterhouse in 1976 in Charlotte, NC and was admitted to the partnership in 1987. His focus was financial institution taxation, and he was significantly involved in the rescue of the failing Texas banks in the late 1980’s.From 1991 through 1993, he was responsible for U.S. Services in Australia, where Price Waterhouse’s Sydney based group provides international tax and consulting services to entities engaged in cross border transactions.From 1993 through 1996, he was in Chicago specializing in cross border investment with a particular focus on Germany, the United Kingdom, and Australia.In 1996 he assumed the leadership responsibilities for PwC’s North Texas international taxation practice which focuses on efficient international structure and organization, cash repatriation strategies, treaty provisions, and transfer pricing. He also served as the Global Relationship Partner (responsible for multiple lines of service) for several of PwC's Fortune 500 clients in Texas.Dick has significant industry experience in financial institutions, oil field services, construction and engineering, and automotive retailing. For several years, he also focused on U.S. inbound investment. Functionally, he has helped clients with many complex problems (domestic and foreign) including mergers and acquisitions, cross-border and cash repatriation strategies, and tax and financial controversies.Dick taught extensively while at PwC, and continued his teaching activities for the Firm after his retirement in 2010.While with the Firm, he was an active board member for Orpheus Chamber Singers, the Vogel Alcove, and the Dallas Opera.Post retirement, Dick has assumed several board positions: Vedero Software, a start-up energy management firm which completed a successful exit in 2015; a medical diagnostics firm where he served as board chairman; and two other companies where he was audit committee chair, each developing innovative technology products.
