Substantially developed a major proprietary statistical software product for high volume, "all-subsets" linear and nonlinear regression. Researched state-of-the-art literature on robust regression, outlier detection, and related topics, and planned software implementation. Researched algorithms of nonlinear programming and other mathematical & computer science topics and planned implementation. Studied/researched mathematical theory of pricing derivative financial securities and recent, advanced financial markets modeling literature. Performed studies and computations in the dynamics, modeling and design of horizontal-take-off spacecraft. Continuing research in the optimization of an advanced concept in numerical methods for ODEs in satellite and planetary orbital applications (extending my doctoral research); explored symbolic computation systems for use in research (especially Mathematica, Derive, and (open source) GiNaC). Studied, implemented, and developed computer systems security and backup/restore/re-installation procedures. Studied/explored C/C++ portability, including GUI issues (STL, MFC, Java, JFC/Swing, V GUI, GTK+, IBM wxWidgets (formerly wxWindows)). Some of this work amounts to all sorts of specialized systems administration types of work with a major emphasis on preparing and maintaining a development environment; mathematics, modeling and other mathematical aspects are a substantial interest. Used gcc (gnu compiler collection, with STL), Borland C++, Symantec/Digital Mars C/C++ (with STL), MFC, V GUI, Java, JFC/Swing, earlier C and C++ packages, Turbo Pascal, Assembler, Windows XP, 2000, 95/98, cygwin, MS-DOS, and a great many development tools. Have also used Mathematica, Derive, GiNaC; (also experienced with ‘office’ tools such as MS Excel and MS Word and OpenOffice Writer and OpenOffice Calc). Also, various other periods.

gnuwin32/cygwin32 UNIX development system overlaid on Windows NT. Ported huge, complex application system to native Windows NT (win32 API), complemented by tcsh/csh and sh script processing and UNIX tools. Tested and prepared system for further development and regular multi-platform upgrades. The application is the "Radiance" architectural software package for realistic rendering of complex lighting conditions with complex surfaces. Used UNIX, gnu development tools—tcsh(csh), bash(sh), make, gcc, gdb, grep, sed, ..., Windows NT, Visual C++, Internet.
