Richard has delivered to the world some of the most influential and successful acts in the recording industry. As Director, Assistant to David McPherson, Executive SVP of Marketing at Sony Urban Music, a newly merged division of Sony BMG Entertainment's Urban arm of Columbia Records and Epic Records. The top exec's looking for their artist to climb the charts and reach unthinkable plateaus respected Richards innovation and drive towards success. This motivation caught the attention of exec's Terrance Aldrich, Director of Marketing at Virgin Records and Jayson Jackson,CEO of 7 Days Entertainment/& GM at Columbia Records/Sony Music Group. Richard was hired to oversee marketing and promotions for the most highly anticipated album ever released by a female of the decade. Richard got to work fast soliciting acts for the album such as Mary J Blige, Carlos Santana, John Legend, and De'Angelo. The album was released, August 25TH , 1998. Richards contribution to the Ms.Hills work towards "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" soared her position to have received 10 Grammy nominations. For this display of well orchestrated teamwork, she was awarded 5 Grammy awards, had the highest first week sales of any album by a female artist in history. She won 4 NAACP Image Awards, and the album was the first hip hop release in history to win album of the year. The management team received credits on the album and a Billboard plaque highlighting their extraordinary work.At NuVybe, Richard is currently serving as Executive SR VP of Marketing; where he will utilize his strong communication skills and longstanding marketing and radio promotions experience to break new artist (which is his Hallmark) signed to company. Richard also has a strong passion to serve in the community; finding funding for vital school programs that encompass education, arts and entertainment.
