    As I used to say to fellow BNI and SoapBox members as part of my weekly 60 seconds, "if taxation is your pain, then you should remember my name". I lead Gilligan Sheppard's tax team and we immerse ourselves daily in assisting clients with their communications with the IRD whether it be in response to risk review or tax audit enquiries or finding solutions for those having problems paying their tax on time. I also provide written opinions for clients on the tax aspects of a particular transaction either proposed or already undertaken, including being involved in a business acquisition due diligence process.I have numerous international contacts which assists in providing structural advice to clients looking to expand their operations offshore. I offer an advisory service to a number of Auckland accounting firms who either do not have their own in-house tax resource or who are simply looking for a second opinion and I also have my own base of clients within the practice that are serviced by our business advisory services team.
