•Organise the institute’s premier event, the 2016 National Conference, and manage the conference team. •Conduct research and write publications, including a 20,000-word monograph for the journal Brill Perspectives in Diplomacy and Foreign Policy. •Engage and network with the institute’s various stakeholders from government, the diplomatic corps, business, academia and the AIIA’s member base. •Attend conferences to network and promote the AIIA, including the conference on Islam and Violent Extremism: Western Policy Responses at the Australian National University and the Oceanic Conference on International Studies at the University of Queensland. •Interview leading international affairs experts for the AIIA’s YouTube channel, AIIA Vision, and promote the institute and its activities via social media including Facebook and Twitter. •Assist with preparations for the AIIA’s various public lectures, roundtables and dialogues.•Undertake everyday administrative duties including email correspondence, answering phones, directing enquiries, preparing documents for meetings and ordering supplies.
