During this summer, I was asked to return to the summer camp I went to last year but as the Head of Junior Girls. I was on hand during the whole summer to assist, encourage, empower and be there for the Girl Counsellors who were looking after 'Junior Girls' but also to support counsellors who were doing the different age groups and genders. I also had the chance to be involved with group talks with the Leadership Counsellors to talk about the different staff appreciations we would be planning. As well as the above, this new role consisted of me being involved in the final planning of the activities in which each Junior Girl cabin will be doing throughout the week/s. And helping when it comes to tough situations such as HomeSickness, Racial Comments and Gender etc.*Leadership Counsellors - are counsellors who had been previously working at the camp*

SEN TA (Out of Hackney Based)
-
Oct 2022 - May 2023
My role here consisted of me supporting my 1:1 who was in Year 5, with additional needs as well as additional personal hygiene and feeding support (PEG feeding tube). Whilst doing this, I also worked alongside our class teachers, teaching assistants and the additional SEN supports who had their own 1:1's. During times of where my 1:1 was not in or during the time, the extra support would have been needed, I would assist our class teacher with the main class or a group of assigned children. My 1:1 was in Year 5 when I was with him however, he had the opportunity to start another school which was perfect for him.

*I will be returning once my contract with my Camp in America is complete/finished*Jumping Beans is a healthy lifestyle activity club for ages 5-11! At Jumping Beans our main aims are to prevent holiday hunger and childhood obesity, put a stop to post code war and police brutality. As well as encouraging our children to live a healthy lifestyle, have the most fun, be confident in who they are and their skills and to continue to make lifelong friendships. We also have a Young Ambassadors program for the teens (12+) - some of our teens have grown up with us, starting off as little Jumping Beans and making their way up to actually leading an activity. For our Jumping Beans, our Young Ambassadors are amazing individuals they can always look up to and have fun with.

For my second year, I was chosen alongside a friend who had worked special needs with me during the first year to become cabin leaders. We did the same thing as mentioned previously but as the responsibilities were passed to us before relating to our supervisor, we had more of an in-depth job to do. For example, pairing up our individuals to suitable staff, making the bed assignments, making the weekly schedules as well as sorting out night duty and planning suitable inclusive games and activities.
