Auto flush toilets have always been a struggle for autistic and sensory sensitive children. As a matter of fact, the other "girl" in 2 Girls Can Publishing, Angie Gall, has a daughter who is frightened of auto flush toilets. As Angie talked to other people about this, she realized that there are a lot of kids who are afraid of these horrible things. Hence the creation of Captain Andy and the Magic Eye Patch! This book, developed by the very talented writer Angie Gall and me, follows Captain Andy as he learns to use his Magic Eye Patches to cover the "red eye" of public toilets. Check out our book and Magic Eye Patches by visiting Captain Andy's Magic Eye Patch or http://etsy.com/shop/2girlscanpublishing.

The Sales Purse was a monthly digital magazine dedicated to sharing sales secrets and lifestyle tips for women in sales and women business owners. Jennifer Alford and I founded the magazine in fall 2013, with Jennifer serving as Editor-in-Chief and I wrote, designed and produced the publication. The Sales Purse helped women stress less, sell more, and master their dreams. Due to business growth in other areas, The Sales Purse has ceased production.

Director of Advertising and Public Information
-
1989 - 1995
Helped to increase enrollment for undergraduate, graduate and adult and continuing education students. Saw consistent double digit growth in undergrad enrollments during my tenure. Previous to my joining the college, 10 other directors had held the position in 10 years. I knew if anyone could fix the department I could. Why? Because of my broad experience in graphic design, marketing and public relations.Marketing budgets were very slim. We instituted bi-annual publications of major recruiting pieces for both the undergraduate and graduate programs. This afforded us the opportunity to position the school's diverse programming options more aggressively. At the time, The College of Saint Rose was one of 16 major institutions of higher education in a 30-minute radius of Albany, NY.Best memory: having to "discipline" actor Tony Randall.

Director of Advertising
-
1985 - 1987
As Director of Advertising, I handeled all of the advertising for our 24 branch offices. I managed a multi-million dollar advertising budget. We innovated the use of a double-truck weekly ad in the Cincinnati Enquirer where we integrated neighborhood overviews and local builders into a traditional ad. By marrying PR with traditional classified advertising we became a leader in each of our branch areas. (FYI, this is the year that desktop publishing debuted. I talked our executive team into saving $70,000 in typesetting fees (of our community guide for people relocating to the Cincinnati marketplace) if they'd just invest in a $40,000 computer system for me. Not only did we create a publication that was much more sophisticated than the previous edition; the computer system tripled our output and slashed our outsourcing budget dramatically. In fact, the computer and software paid for itself in three months time if you don't count the initial project we brought it in for.

Marketing Coordinator
-
1984 - 1985
As the marketing coordinator, I was in charge of designing and writing a monthly newsletter; handling all of the graphics and some PR for numerous special events we hosted for the citizens of Cincinnati. While there, I was able to meet the Beach Boys, Donny & Marie, Crystal Gayle, Mark Harmon and a number of other stars. One of my favorites was the evening when I met Mr. Whipple (of Charmin) fame. Ask me about this sometime!
