    • Head Teacher at Pure Barre Athens
      • Sep 2014 - Present

Teaching at Pure Barre Athens is one of my favorite ways to disseminate research within the local Athens community. Pure Barre's group exercise concept is genius, as it's not only extremely effective, but also safe, low-impact, high intensity work geared specifically toward women. Connecting with community members, and helping them to make positive behavior changes with exercise, is a huge - but rewarding - responsibility! As the Head Teacher at Pure Barre Athens, I also have the privilege of continually training and coaching our wonderful staff! I'm able to help our team perfect the Pure Barre technique and continually challenge them to be the most effective group exercise instructors that they can be. Additionally, I am able to meet with clients and teach them modifications as needed due to pregnancy, previous injury, low fitness level, preexisting medical condition, etc. I truly love using my knowledge of exercise science in this capacity, and I'm thankful to be part of the Pure Barre team!
