Development geologist on Nevis Central and Skene field, satellites to the Beryl field in the Central North Sea, maturing potential infill targets for a subsea campaign in the near future. Duties inlude seismic interpretation (both stratigraphic and structural interpretation), mapping, attribute analysis and seismic well tie (both RokDok and Petrel) as well as structural modelling and volume calculations.Skene project - re-evaluation of the data, integrating all old well and production data and re-mapped the area to identify potential infill targets in a field previously thought to be fully exploited with existing development.

    • Operations Geologist
      • Oct 2007 - Mar 2012

Well planning and operations geologist on Bacchus field (new field development). Borderline HPHT environment with multipurpose wells in appraisal/development role with complicated reservoir and overburden (overpressure).Sole operations geologist on a major UKCS mature oil field. Responsibilities include daily drilling operational duties with a maximum of 3 concurrently drilling wells, infill well planning, data collection planning, and post well review and analysis.I was part of the team drilling 42 infill wells including horizontal producers, surface drilling in a mature field and new techniques such as casing while drilling. I provided geological input, working with the petrophysicist and geophysicist, for shallow gas analysis when drilling surface wells. I co-ordinate the planning and collection of VSP data, both boat and rig source and of core data in both shales for wellbore stability data and reservoir for SCAL analysis.Subsurface co-ordinator and geological support to define the drilling schedule and develop geological and drilling based well proposals and logging programs. Played a key role in an ongoing project of wellbore stability within Forties field. This entails pre-drill fault analysis, breakout and caving analysis during drilling and post drill interpretation for breakout directions and stresses within the field. This is then fed into a larger Earth model for the field, integrating different data including mud weights, biostratigraphy and XRD analysis, and inclinations and azimuth variability's and the effects these have whilst drilling.

    • Production Geologist
      • Jul 2006 - Oct 2007

Production geologist on the North Cormorant field in the northern North Sea. It is a mature, complex faulted and water-flooded oil field. Activities include infill well planning to maximise production and waterflood effectiveness and delivering these wells through Shell internal review process. I steered a field modelling review which led to the initiation of a re-modelling exercise prior to field divestment. I provided geological input for target definition to increase the value of the asset before sale.
