Currently celebrating my 40th anniversary of working in this incredible outreach organization. Rabbi and spiritual guide for the Shoresh community, which includes over 4,000 camper alumni and 850 staff alumni, and their families. As Camp Director, I oversee planning of all aspects of this 7 week, 450 camper and 100 staff "day camp with an overnight feel," as well as the day-to-day operations.I am the primary fundraiser, responsible for more than 90% of our annual donations, and overseeing the planning and execution of 2 major annual events as well as a variety of other efforts.I am the primary liaison with our Executive Board and Board of Directors, planning and leading regular meetings and providing essential communications between meetings.I educate and form connections with our teens and young people via monthly get-togethers through the Fidler Teen Torah Center Brew Crews and Davison Middle School Jew Crews, and via the NEW Carroll and Charlotte Weinberg STEP (Shoresh Torah Enrichment Program) - fun and relevant virtual Sunday school classes for 4th-9th graders meant to supplement or serve as the only Sunday school class during these challenging times. We have been on our beautiful 107-acre campus in Adamstown in the southern part of Frederick County, Maryland for 20 years. I was part of the site selection team, led the fundraising efforts, and oversaw all aspects of site planning and building design, renovation, and construction. We now have a 17.000 square foot community center, 3 family cabins, 4 bunkhouses, arts center, game room, in-ground pool, sports fields galore and more. This facility is available for special events and Shabbos and weekly rentals in the off-season.
