Upon being assigned to the project a new project plan was designed, including SMART MVP release targets. It exists today as a system that gives business huge agility in terms of modifications to credit appetite and due to its component-based architecture is able to deliver business value at a faster rate than any other in the business unit.

    ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES• Participated in the design, implementation, testing and maintenance of solutions for several clients in the financial sector.• Primarily developed in Java, Spring Boot and AngularKEY PROJECTSCore Services:Extracting core, repeated, capabilities (eg. account maintenance, customer maintenance) from various legacy systems and implemented a microservice architecture. Decommission of older "big ball of mud" systems. All new services built primarily using Spring Boot.Achievements: Fully automated the build & deploy pipelines for all services using a combination of Puppet and Bamboo.Created maven archetypes for services to allow teams to quickly spin up new services and ensure adherence to architectural standardsApplication Service:Gateway into the mortgage application process for mortgage brokers, bank mobile app, and bank website. Built initially in Java Enterprise Edition before being refactored to Spring Boot.Achievements: Refactored early mortgage application process milestones to allow for asynchronicity to account for legacy system instability and downtime, including retry policies and out-of-SLA alerting, greatly reducing the number of production incidents and customer complaints.BidList:A tool to track and manage auctions of properties that have been repossessed. Built primarily in Angular and Java Enterprise Edition.Achievements: Introduced Keycloak as an SSO standard to be used within the division and implemented integration with it in several systems outside of the project, moving the business unit away from bespoke user management per system.FinSurv:Financial Surveillance tools to track foreign exchange transactions between bank customers and foreign entities according to legislative requirements. Built primarily in Apache Wicket and Java Enterprise Edition.Achievements: Created custom Wicket framework for the business unit, resulting in promotion to Lead Front-End developer on all related projects
