    Based in Chicago area, I managed the purchasing function for critical raw materials used at 3 manufacturing facilities for ISO manufacturer of rheostats and resistors. Later for our Mexican plant after manufacturing was consolidated into one facility. Used the AS400 and Powerlink to review MRP requirements for JIT manufacturing, establish safety stock levels, order and expedite resistance wire, metal sheet and strip, ceramic cores, hardware, and miscellaneous electronic sub-components. Performed the full array of purchasing duties including sourcing and negotiating better pricing and payment terms with suppliers. I worked as a team member on new product development and interdepartmental projects. Accomplishments included obtaining 20% discount with steel supplier, 5-7% discount and 60 day payment terms with major wire suppliers, removed duplicate item numbers from Item Master and standardized Item Master descriptions.

    Originally worked 1+ year as Stockroom Manager responsible for receiving, storing, dispersal cycle, cycle counting of all raw materials for manufacturer of constant temperature control laboratory equipment. I also served and team leader for year end physical inventory. Promoted to Buyer working under Purchasing Manager. I ordered and scheduled the most critical and big dollar inventory items: compressors, condensers, sheet metal, motors, and fans.Ultimately served as acting purchasing manager and supervised 2 junior buyers. I reduced excess inventory and helped increased inventory turns from 1.1 to 4 in a year and a half; instituted commodity based buying plan for buyers; developed an approved supplier list, and wrote department guidelines and work instructions for ISO certification
