      As the Chairman of Surgery, I was responsible for managing all aspects of the Department as well as overseeing the administration of the General Surgery Residency program and the Podiatry residency program. Heavily involved in improving the hospital's electronic medical record (Allscripts) and utilizing medical informatics, Chaired the Meaningful Use Committee and was one of 8% of all US hospitals to achieving meaningful use 2 criteria. Chaired the value analysis committee. Chaired quality improvement projects like compliance with national core measures, JCAHO standards, SCIP core measures. Worked very closely with Case Management to decrease length of stay and improve resource utilization. Partnered with other departments on multi-disciplinary program development (i.e. Bariatric Surgery, Lung nodule program, multi-disciplinary Breast Cancer program)
