I was responsible for the design and layout of a small upscale wholesale/retail seafood store on Cape Cod and in its day-to-day operation. This included obtaining all necessary licenses and permits for this start-up and managing a staff of 12 employees, the daily purchasing and processing of a myriad of fresh and frozen seafood items--ranging from live lobsters and shellfish to pelagics and North Atlantic ground fish. I was also responsible for smoking and developing in-house smoked seafood delicacies, ready-to-eat seafood entres, dips and smoked seafood spreads. I oversaw purchasing and marketing of grocery items for retail sale and was responsible for a thousand pound live lobster holding system and building and grounds maintenance. I wrote/produced all print and radio advertising. As a side note, local parents were happy to have their teenagers experience their "first job" at Breakwater Fish and Lobster because they gained valuable training in work ethic, courteous, accurate customer service in a safe and nurturing environment.
