    Wejo provides a trading platform for connected car data & analytics, collected in near-real-time, from over 14 million vehicles. In the last 8 years, I have seen wejo grow from 20 to over 250 employees.My current role is a hands on position, reporting to the Director of Data & Engineering. I run a team of data analysts and data engineers, processing big data, performing analysis, and creating dashboards & insights on both connected car data & our internal CRMs (Pipedrive & Hubspot). I use Databricks to extract data and create aggregates coding in SQL, Python and Scala and reading/ writing to AWS s3: and Azure blob storage, I also use Azure Data factory/ Talend for creating data pipelines. My insights, dashboards, stories and visualisations are created in Tableau (desktop and server) connecting to the data sources stored in a variety of locations including: Databricks, Redshift, Azure Datalake Gen2 and Azure SQL database.Part of my current role is to liaise with other areas of the business to analyse and create requirements in JIRA for my team, plan and organise the workload into sprints and lead the team with all the relevant ceremonies to ensure that we deliver effectively, I have also designed, documented and created the data pipelines and data storage merging data from many different sources including CRM systems, spatial data and big data with over 18 billion data points ingested per day, I have used QGIS and kepler.gl to produce animated special visualisations to demonstrate our vehicle data, enabling sales conversations around vehicle movements and volumes.During my early years within wejo I introduced an agile development environment, including standups, retrospectives, showcases & sprint planning. To facilitate the smooth running of the team I also created & implemented a set of processes & proposed, designed & configured a variety of new tools, including JIRA, Confluence (Document Management) & Tempo (Time Management).

    Secure Electrans was a privately funded R&D payment company, offering Chip & PIN solutions for both online eCommerce & Micro Merchant point-of-sale transactions on a variety of PC, Android & iOS platforms.I was responsible for managing the development of the HomePay system (device, middleware & backend) which achieved EMV L1, EMV L2, PCI/PTS, CAS/POI certifications & PCI/DSS compliant.My team consisted of designers, analysts & programmers, with a large variety of skills: low-level embedded C, C, Python, Django, Oracle, Linux, web services, ZigBee, cryptography & Android/ iOS app development.     Senator International is the largest independent manufacturer of office furniture in the UK with a staff of over 1700. I was solely responsible for developing & supporting the internal systems. I captured user requirements, agreed specifications, created project plans, produced test specifications, managed the full development life cycle & ensured the smooth implementation of all systems. My team and I developed a full Bill of materials, product costing & machine routing system, a returns system, a warehouse management system (including scanning) & a purchase order processing system. This was all written in Progress (9.1d UNIX)) with a client front end on Terminal Services.

    The Edinburgh Woollen Mill was a large retail company with in excess of 600 shops throughout UK.
