In this contract role, I worked as part of the project team to assist in the migration of documents to a new electronic document management system based on SharePoint 2013. In addition to mapping content for migration, this role also required cleansing the documents of the organizations’ existing content, in order to dispose of outdated and trivial content in accordance with the teams’ retention policy. This role required, amongst other skills:• Using Microsoft Excel to map content and its metadata to enable smooth migration from the incumbent EDRMS to SharePoint 2013.• Auditing existing content to established criteria in order to assess suitability for migration.• Editing and uploading content to SharePoint 2013 sites.• Involved in review & refresh of the information architecture to improve usability of the new EDRMS.• Developed an interactive way to present case study material utilising PowerView and PowerPivot Excel addins.

In this role, I worked as part of the Knowledge Services team to assist in migration of content from a SharePoint 2007 global intranet platform to SharePoint 2010. During my time here I quickly gained a good basic understanding of SharePoint 2010, which I employed to facilitate the migration project.This role required:• Using third-party tools to migrate content and its metadata from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010.• Auditing existing Global Intranet content to established criteria to assess suitability for migration.• Editing and uploading content to SharePoint 2010 sites as part of a firm-wide content migration initiative. • Assisting other team members in work related to creating intranet sites. This included page building and web-part deployment on SharePoint 2010 sites, using both Out-of-box and customised web-parts, in addition to view creation and managed metadata.

In this role, I worked as part of an established team to analyse, review and consolidate the firm’s intranet content. A large part of these duties involved preparing content to be migrated onto a new intranet platform, which involved extensive use of SharePoint 2007.This required:• Liaising with content owners via email and telephone globally to undertake a review of existing content published or in development within both practice areas and business services. • Engaged in data interrogation, data analysis, data auditing and compiling of reports with resulting recommendations.• Engaging with content owners/editors to ensure appropriate amendments was made to content where required and/or supported in the consolidation, migration or deletion of content.• Working with content owners, the Online Content Team and ISS to support the migration of content to the new intranet and the decommissioning of legacy content and platforms • Helping to define content templates and services that may be exploited by others, within the framework of the firm’s style sheet and information architecture.

In this role, my primary duties involved supporting the Assistant Director with responsibility for KM, in KPMG’s Global Infrastructure practice. I successful developed relationships across the firm to deliver a high level of professional service. I won TFPL Intelligent Resources's ‘temp of the month’ award for my work at KPMG. My projects:• Mobile app: Vendor liaison and quality assurance on the development of a mobile app across all platforms (Apple, BlackBerry, Windows, Android). The app allows clients to read KPMG thought leadership on the move. Search ‘KPMG Infrastructure Insight’ in the app store to view the product. • Intranet: Managing the practice’s intranet site (Microsoft SharePoint), including lists, libraries, permissions, blogs, discussion board and user support• Credentials database: collation and organization of thousands of examples of KPMG experience into one unified searchable database. This involved extensive Microsoft Excel work, a high degree of organization and considerable communication within the firm, especially with Sector heads and other Knowledge Managers. • Partner’s conference site: real time updates and user support for a one off Partners conference SharePoint site. This allowed Partners to blog, and upload documents during the conference itself.• Research: undertaking specific research requests to support client pitches and presentations given by Partners through to Managers.• Current awareness updates: producing the fortnightly departmental newsletter, and weekly Factiva updates for Partners.• Training: Training and support to a new starter in India on the above projects

I worked as part of a large project team to construct a ‘Google’-like search tool. The tool provides access to extensive legal knowledge content covering all major legal practices. Duties:• Data manipulation - I used my Bachelors Degree in Law to accurately identify and categorise information to align with the firm’s metadata standard. I was required to use personal judgment regarding the nature and content of records in the absence of clear guidelines and incomplete supporting information.• Data Management – I utilized advanced Excel formulas to quickly and efficiently sort, evaluate and validate spreadsheets containing over 60,000 records. I carried out a quality assurance supervisory role.• Adaptive style –goals and objectives altered rapidly during the project, and I had to quickly re-prioritise work targets to meet non-negotiable deadlines, and take on additional work.• Communication skills – Regular liaison with Professional Support Lawyers and Knowledge Managers
