Both of these reports, current and past, can be found on his website at www.carmelabodes.comPaul s especially adept at working with out-of-town buyers. With my wife Nellie as working partner opened the Pewter Shop in The Barnyard in Carmel, CA. This business started in March 1978 when Nellie, the family and I were still living in Rio de Janeiro. We hired a local manager to run the business until we could get relocated to Carmel. This business specialized in marketing, both in the store and through direct mail campaigns, John Somers Pewter which we imported from Brazil. Nellie ran the retail and I managed the wholesale aspect as we were agents for John Somers in the United States.Nellie ran retail full time until we closed the shop at the end of 1993. After I entered real estate in 1986 I did double duty by running the wholesale business at night.

Worked on promotions and conferences in Latin America relating to Sterling Drug's huge over-the-counter drug business and large ethical drug business under the Winthrop Laboratories label. An interesting aside is that David Corcoran, who was president of Sterling's international division, was a brother of Thomas Corcoran, the famous "Tommy the Cork," a notable and witty personality in the Franklin Roosevelt administration. Got to meet Tommy at a party in Washington D. C., a thrilling experience for a lad from the flat lands of Oakland, CA.
