    I was elected as a Governing Board Member of the Buena Park, CA, School District in 2010, after I was termed out, having served 16 years on the Buena Park City Council, including three terms as Mayor. I served on the District Board until February 2012. I was active in numerous organizations including the Orange County, California State and National Leagues of Cities, and the O.C.LAFCO (Local Agency Formation Committee). I represented Buena Park on the Orange County Fire Authority, Vector Control Board and the Orange County Sanitation District, among others.Prior to City Council, I worked at Knott's Berry Farm handling community and governmental relations and public relations for 18 years.I have my BA in Journalism from Idaho State University, and worked at Associated Press in Salt Lake City, the San Francisco Examiner and in public relations handling movie premieres, Board of Supervisor elections, Bay Area Hilton Hotels, and many other businesses and events.In fact, I was "Miss San Francisco Sewers," a title my boss gave to me when he added me to publicity photos for a "sewer bond election" we were promoting and which passed.

    Worked in the Salt Lake City, Utah, AP bureau the summer of 1965 and full-time after graduation in 1966-67 as night and broadcast editors.Moved to San Francisco where I was a reporter for the "Examiner" and also worked for Kislingbury Public Relations until 1971. Clients included the Bay Area Hilton Hotels, movie premieres, National Sports and Boat Show, political campaigns, etc. I also had the title of "Miss San Francisco Sewers" during a photo shoot for a sewer bond campaign which we won.
