Experience

    • Principal
      • Feb 2018 - Present

After planning and executing on creating the Outreach Services positions at both Primary Children's Hospital and then for the Intermountain Healthcare system, I have learned the the intricacies of finding and recovering revenue from leakers and splitters inside and outside a healthcare system. Much has to do with consolidating field resources and providing them information that allows them to be most efficient at their jobs through the use of a robust CRM system. Using data from multiple internal and external sources, our goal is to make it easier for patients, providers, and payers to do business with our clients.

  • Intermountain Healthcare
    • Greater Salt Lake City Area
    • AVP of Outreach Services
      • Jun 2013 - Feb 2018
      • Greater Salt Lake City Area

The major difference between my former position at Primary Children's Hospital (owned by Intermountain Healthcare) and this position is that my responsibilities go from one hospital to the outreach perspective of all 22 hospitals owned by Intermountain. All of these hospitals with the exception of one in Idaho are in the state of Utah. Both Intermountain Medical Center and Primary Children's Hospital treat patients from inside Utah and from across the country and the world. My focus is on new service relationships (new business) and service leakage reduction (retention). There are six fundamental operational areas involved in achieving success in these areas. These areas affecting patient and provider behavior and impacting how Intermountain Healthcare is and will be perceived by our two most important stakeholders are:• Leakage Reduction and Recovery• Sales Force Optimization• Call Center Efficiency• Patient-friendly Scheduling• Transfer Center Transition• Population HealthThe common thread running through these six focal points is convenience; convenience for our patients and convenience for our providers. We must make it easier to access our services for both. Outreach Services is striving to make it easier for our patients to schedule initial care and follow-up activities. And, it must be easy for providers to refer patients for our services and to access information on those patients they do refer.

    • Director of Outreach Strategy
      • Jun 2013 - Sep 2014
      • Salt Lake City, UT

The main function of this position is to establish relationships with primary care physicians, hospitals, insurance companies, other medical professionals, and local communities located outside the state of Utah. Our goal is to improve healthcare for children in rural areas of the western U.S. (including Alaska). We know that the longer a child can stay near home if they ever require transfer to a pediatric hospital, the better the overall outcome of their treatment. Primary Children's is a tertiary and quaternary care facility for pediatric patients only. We provide care not provided in the local communities from which our patients come. In addition, I work with the staff and administration of Primary Children's, the University of Utah School of Medicine and Intermountain Healthcare to create and maintain marketing and other support services required to facilitate efficient referral and intake processes for these patients and their families.
