We were able to improve our returns to 5-6% on our investments. This was a senior leadership role. I grew skilled in relationship management, prudent financial management, working with the board of governors and assisted in building the strategy of the school.

I had two roles the first was the head of finance for the South Asia region and then the director of global financial systems. I led the financial operations of a geographical region and was a trusted business advisor for the British Council South Asia.A. British Council- Director- Global financial systems- May 2016- August 2017I was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of changes to Financial and Management accounting and reporting systems. -I developed a global inter-company accounting and reconciliation system for the organization. It reduced the days to close our books from about 30 to 20 days eliminating a major pain area for the financial reporting team. -I led the efforts to review and remove redundant master data to improve management reporting.-I worked with the Information systems, Business teams and Global finance teams to improve the reconciliation between financial and business systems. It improved financial & management reporting for the business.B. Regional Finance Director- South Asia - September 2008- April 2016I led the finance function in South Asia, which has a turnover of GBP 150m across seven countries. I was responsible for financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting. -I ensured that fixed costs were kept constant despite us being in high inflation countries – at about 9% of revenue for six straight years. South Asia's had one of the lowest fixed costs base in the British Council network-I supported a complex change - tax and status for the British Council in India, which involved setting up a new subsidiary, review of tax and business model, SAP implementation and building new finance organization and processes-I supported revenue growth and cost control by providing accurate, timely and relevant management information. It gave valuable management insight to businesses.
