Simply learning to speak a language does not mean you fulfil the requirement of 'understanding'. Business transactions in any form require a strong command of language to ensure success!

In this position I was responsible for coordinating & overseeing the recruitment process of apprentice chefs and trainees. This included assessing all applicants skills and potential to ensure quality placements in quality food establishments. This was a position where I had to deal with people between the ages of 14-20 in most cases so I often found myself dealing wtih parents to provide them with advice on their childrens chosen career paths. It was important to get parents to understand the challenges their children will encounter within this industry and to ensure the potential apprentices themselves had a passion and desire to work within various areas of hospitality.Another important aspect of this position was to ensure all apprentices achieved good all-round training as per the requirements of Group Training. To comply with this requirement I had to rotate all 750 apprentices every 6-12 months, however, this also involved an interview and selection process that apprentices had to go through with the Host Employers. To assist them with this I would coach them through the process. This position reported directly into the Sales and Marketing Manager and we worked closely to increase skills and abilities of our apprentices. Other responsibilities included preparing reports, organising OHS training for apprentices and trainees.
