My responsibilities were teaching English and General Science to the students from 5th -10th grades in Bhimphedi, Nepal. The students and faculty were very kind and polite. I spent hours preparing for the classes and studying the Nepali language. At that time most of the classrooms did not have electricity nor indoor restrooms. I was invited to go the bazaar for tea with the faculty when I had a free period. I stayed for a year in this mountainous community before going to Kathmandu during the monsoon season, where I visited the Paropakar Orphanage on a daily basis and offered to help out with art and physical education classes. In the fall I was transferred to Kalaiya, where I taught several classes at the local high school.
