    My responsibilities as an external collaborator for the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence at Cambridge University include meeting with academics in the organisation, discussing their research, and providing contributions. These contributions can be either theoretical in nature, discussing the conceptual aspects of their research, or practical in nature, discussing and building test stimuli for use in academic research.This role has provided me with the opportunity to learn many skills related to designing and conducting research for assessing artificial intelligence systems and their capabilities. I have used these skills on occasion to aid my own PhD studies.

    My role within Bolt was to source, evaluate and submit to the team novel ideas and information related to various training projects they are working on. When a team member wishes to pursue what I have submitted further I worked with them to assist in commercialising an idea. This can be in the form of a publication or developing training programs for Bolt’s customers. This role provided me with many opportunities to test my academic knowledge in a commercial environment. Particularly in relation to developing employees on an individual basis and in fostering healthy workplace relations within and between businesses.

    This role involves conducting cognitive research starting at the recruitment of potential participants, testing them in a series of cognitive tests, collecting and analysing data and concluding with the submission of a report to the department head. In addition to research I have also been entrusted to coach other undergraduate students to the point where they are able to perform experimental research to an acceptable standard.

    My role within the SSNL consisted of me aiding in the designing, implementation, analysis and reporting of scientific research related to gender stereotyping in financial decision making. Furthermore, I was entrusted with compiling a collection of images of faces and scenery for an online database to be used in research regarding facial processing mechanics.I was also required to review scientific literature relevant to my research which I would later report to my supervisor as part of a programme aimed specifically at aiding my development as a researcher.

    Whilst this role was initially restricted to a brief volunteer position as way of offering work experience to students, the standard of work I provided was adequate enough for me to be offered a full time role at the hotel. Working as a kitchen porter mainly required me to clean large quantities of tableware and crockery and to make sure the kitchen remained a hygienic working environment. Other roles included cleaning and preparing rooms in the hotel for events and assisting chefs in cooking food for guests.
