      The Inland Container Depot Owning & Operating Company McLarens Container Services was established in 1979, and the McLarens Logistics Group, in Sri Lanka was built around the activities of this business. The Depot was set up to offer service to 2 of the largest Container Leasing Companies of the time - ICS & CTI, as they were on-hiring Containers to Ceylon Shipping Corporation. As the Depot facility was enhanced with more land area, services were offered to International Shipping Lines as well, The Group ventured into Warehousing, Container Transport in the 1980's and also setup their own Container Refurbishing Plant. In order to provide services to exporters a Container Freight Station with customs facilities was established in the mid 1980's. Then in the early 1990's further warehousing space was added, and the Container Trading business was established. Thereafter during the early 2000's the Container Conversions Division, Project Cargo Handling & ISO Tank Cleaning Divisions were setup. And in 2008, the Group ventured into its own Nvocc & ISO Tank Agency, Shipping Agency & Freight Forwarding Divisions were set up and most recently a Clearing & Forwarding Division was established to enable the Group to offer a door delivery service in Sri Lanka using its own offices/division to ensure the best service levels
