Axle Development Engineer
-
Sep 2008 - May 2016
In September 2008, I began in Powertrain, working validation on the 8.25” Rear Axle built by Detroit Axle (our internal supplier). I worked closely with the Axle Lab located at Jeep Truck Engineering. The first two years, I completed validation programs on (a) resourcing the 8.25” when DAP closed, (b) the 205 Front, looking at various material, heat-treat and metal finishing options and (c) validation of LX 200 Rear. The next three years, July 2010 – July 2013 were spent drafting and publishing axle performance specifications and producing Source Packages with Technical Specifications, as we transitioned from internal suppliers to totally purchased axles. These specifications are the body of work that convey to the supplier how we expect our axles to be validated and the standard they are to perform.I have also completed the editing and publishing of a series of standardized Lab Procedures that distill the historical tests performed on the major axle components. In July 2012, I was given the additional responsibility of design and release for the 3500 Cab Chassis Rear Axle.

Plant Vehicle Engineer (PVE)
-
Jun 1995 - Dec 1998
I was given the opportunity to go to St. Louis as Product Vehicle Engineer (PVE) for the Truck platform. We were in the process of retooling the North Plant to build the wildly popular Dodge Ram. It was the vision of the plant manager to have every vehicle run down a Validation Track before deeming it fit to ship. I developed that track – I oversaw the installation of it and supervised the Validation process. We flagged, root caused and repaired vehicles while driving corrective action back to the assembly line. Our quality and FTC numbers were impeccable. My part enabled the team to excel to award-winning levels of achievement
