    After a just over a year as part of the Tim Hortons Canada team, Natalie was promoted to a global role with Restaurant Brands International (which includes the Tim Hortons, Burger King and Popeyes brands) supporting the legal departments in Canada, USA, Switzerland and Singapore. Reporting into the General Counsel for RBI, Natalie's responsibilities include:· Creating and implementing the newly created legal sub-department - the Legal Centre of Excellence· Defining, assessing, measuring and improving Legal Department processes and efficiency via the Legal Centre of Excellence· Supporting the work of Legal Department groups including: Employment and Immigration, Supply Chain and IT, Securities and Corporate, Franchise and Development, Marketing and IP· Managing a global team of twelve members of the Legal Centre of Excellence Additionally, Natalie continues to her work as Counsel with the Franchise and Development legal team.

    Joining the Tim Hortons (a part of Restaurant Brands International) legal team in Fall of 2015, Natalie had a chance to combine two of her greatest loves – real estate/development law and food. Working as Corporate Counsel, Development and Franchise, Natalie helped business partners achieve net restaurant development goals, manage existing leasehold and franchise relationships, and enter into new ones. Her knowledge of real estate law, development, construction and business operations make her an integral part of the Tim Hortons team.     As in-house legal counsel with Metrolinx, Natalie's practice focused on commercial real estate and infrastructure related matters. Through the drafting and negotiation of acquisitions, dispositions, leases, licences and easements, she assisted in Metrolinx's expansion of transit across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. While there she helped in implementing a part of the biggest transit expansion project in Canadian history, working on projects such as the Union-Pearson Express and the Eglinton Crosstown. Metrolinx was the recipient of the 2013 American Public Transportation Association's Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement Award and was recognized as one of Greater Toronto's Top Employers for 2014. The organization champions and delivers mobility solutions throughout the GTHA and Natalie enjoyed working with Metrolinx to help transform the way the region moves.Legal Department - Real Estate Team∙ Specific focus on land acquisition, including expropriation, and construction matters relating to the Union Pearson Airport Express and the expansion of the Georgetown South Rail Corridor. ∙ Drafted and negotiated agreements of purchase and sale, easements, leases, licences and permission to enter agreements to assist in the procurement of land parcels necessary for line expansion and related construction activities. ∙ Coordinated with project managers, engineers and various members of the construction, development and infrastructure industries to facilitate construction and general transit operations.∙ Managed and created lease and licence documents for retail, office and parking space as required to support GO Transit and Metrolinx operations across the GTHA.
