I am a Global Health Corps fellow and was based at Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation until August 2015. I worked on a project called Survive and Thrive which was a clinical approach to Early Childhood Development (ECD). The project's goal was to identify children infected and affected by HIV, who have developmental delays so that these children could be given the necessary help to reach their full developmental potential. The project had a number of health centre based activities such as gross motor skills class, fine motor skills class, school readiness as well as cooking demonstrations. My duties included technical support and oversight, mentoring of community volunteers, logistics and event management, procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation, programmatic report and proposal development, contracts and sub grantee management, project workplan and budget development /management as well as review of program tools.
