My role is as Business Development Manager servicing Victoria and Tasmania. Excite Holidays is a travel technology company, made exclusively for travel agents. We own our proprietary software, and provide the travel trade with more than 300,000 accommodations, 60,000 activities, high quality transfer services and Greek and Fiji island ferry tickets.The core responsibilities of my role included;• Establish, develop and maintain customer relationships with existing agents, and identify, attract, retain and activate new agents• Training agents in the adoption and effective use of Excites’ propriety dynamic booking platform technology• Empowering agents through education and support to become confident and active users of the platform• Support and train agents in the use of the platform to book accommodation, activities, transfers and ferries• Followed up and converted new leads and referrals from sales and marketing activity• Promoted sales development and marketing activity through incentive schemes• Organised and attended travel industry expos and conferences, and conducted familiarisation tours to international destinations• Maintained and nurtured preferred supplier relationshipsAchievements• Managed a portfolio of over 500 travel agents based in metropolitan and regional areas across Victoria and Tasmania• Achieved annual ‘departed sales’ targets of over $16 million, resulting in bonus milestones being met• Grew ‘sales to budget performance’ from 73% of budget (prior BDM) to 100% of budget under my management• Received 5/5 in annual performance reviews undertaken by the Regional Manager (direct manager)
