    Washtech is the leading commercial dishwasher manufacturer in New Zealand and Australia. It’s valued for its reliable and efficient machines.As Production Engineer I was responsible for delivering solutions that reduced costs, improved production efficiency, and better suited customer needs. I did this by developing new machines and implementing the evolution of existing machines.In my role I:• Managed changes to increase the efficiency of production, resulting in a 27% increase in the weekly production volume.• Conducted tests of concepts, processes and components to determine the best changes to make.• Oversaw projects from research to final product.• Designed and developed new products using Autodesk Inventor.• Designed and implemented the evolution of existing products to improve efficiency of production, to reduce costs, and to better suit customer needs.• Negotiated with local and overseas suppliers on costs.• Oversaw the 3D printing of casting concepts.• Set up a new department to manufacture more components in-house; this was more cost and time effective.• Worked with production supervisors to improve manufacturing processes with new tools, jigs and fixtures.• Coordinated the introduction of new designs between the engineering and production teams.• Operated machinery such as lathe, cut-off machine, tube bender, press brake, TIG welder and mill.• Produced technical manuals and drawings for in-house teams and off-site fabricators to control production of products.
