Over Night Counselor- Interact with campers of all ages who have cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, spina bifida, fetal alcohol syndrome, and other disabilities. Responsible for adapting activities so that campers can fully participate and assist with ADL’s. Day Camp Counselor-Worked one on one with children who have developmental disabilities for ten weeks. The day campers were mainly diagnosed with autism and cerebral palsy. Encouraged campers to try new activities and to interact with the other campers. Helped kids manage behavior’s associated with their diagnoses. Skill Building- Help consumers meet targeted goals through structured activities. Work with consumers that have Down syndrome, autism, and physical disabilities. Help clients meet targeted goals, improve socialization, safety skills, ADL’s, independence, and community integration. Community Living Support- Work one on one with a consumer to help him meet specific goals each week. The consumer has Asperger’s and he is in his mid-twenties. Help the consumer with ADL’s, increase confidence in living on his own, set schedule, stick to routine, community integration, leisure activities, and socialization.
