FIRST ART EXHIBITION: ’30 DAYS OF BONNE ESPERANCE’(From the first of June 2013 I started a 30 Day Challenge called 30 Days of 'Bonne Esperance' in coherence with the ArtUnion Initiative . 'Bonne Esperance' means 'Good Hope' in French. I made a sketch each day for 30 days straight which was an incredible challenge to me. Selected pieces from this challenge were exhibited and available for purchase at &Union in Cape Town during the course of the exhibition.)13th JULY 2013 – 9th AUGUST 2013VENUE: &UNION, 110 BREE STREET, CAPE TOWNFOR MORE INFORMATION AND TO SEE MOST OF MY WORK, HAVE A LOOK AT MY WEBSITE: www.moniqueart.co.za OR MY FACEBOOK PAGE: Monique’s Art & Illustration

In April 2011 I went to Thailand to give English classes to students of a foreign language. My responsibility was to set up my own lesson plans for each day in order to teach them communication skills, writing, reading, listening and speaking in English. I taught the students aged 17 to 18 years old during school hours (22 hours per week), and also tutored additional English classes to students aged 14 to 18 after school hours (10 hours per week). I was also responsible for attending numerous English Camps during the year as a trainer/facilitator and also for training top students for their National English Skills competitions. After completion of the academic school year, I returned to South Africa.
